A Wonderful Teacher
“I started at RMRDTA after working a summer at a dog daycare. I found Ana by chance as I was browsing online for a place to learn dog training, and I am so thankful I did! Her teaching style mixes lecture, discussion, and real-world experience. Every day at Academy, I am getting hands-on experience with all different kinds of dogs, learning their body language and how to interact with them. After signing up for 6 months, I quickly realized how much I was learning and decided to do a full year. Ana has taught me not only how to work with dogs, but also how to communicate with the people that come with them. Additionally, she is a wonderful teacher of life outside of dog training. Because of her, I have gained assertiveness and confidence in other aspects of my life. Her genuineness combined with a touch of New Yorker charm, makes for a lively and engaging class. She takes the time to thoroughly answer my questions with examples/demonstrations. Thank you for such an enriching education, Ana!”

A Fantastic Experience
“Rocky Mountain Regional Dog Training Academy is a fantastic experience! Not only is Ana a great teacher when it comes to dog training, she also genuinely cares about her students and their success. She wants all her students to become successful dog trainers but also successful in life in all aspects. I highly recommend attending this program.”

A True Gentle Methods and Positive Reinforcement Dog Training Classroom
“I have been grooming dogs since 2006, and it is very hard on my body. I wanted to keep a career working with dogs and signed up for RMRDTA to learn how to train dogs. I am 2 months into a 6-month program. I have learned an immense amount from Ana Melara. Having class 3x a week, in person, is giving me abundant hands-on experience. Every day we are touching dogs and watching canine behavior in a variety of different ways. We work with her clients and with each other and our own dogs, and review/critique videos of our training in class. Ana takes the time to make sure we understand what she is teaching and is passionate about getting more gentle method trainers out into the dog world.”

I’ve Learned so Much
“I started with RMRDTA in 2016 as a dog groomer. Now in 2024 I will be going back to finish my certification so continue my dog grooming WITH training! In the meantime doing side jobs training too. I’ve learned so much through Ana, and can’t wait to further my education.”

Inspiring Results
“I was a volunteer at a local shelter for a few years, it was a humbling experience not knowing how to deal with the “challenging” dogs. Ana came and did a one-day seminar on how to deal with shelter dogs. I was inspired by her ability to get results without even touching the dog! That’s when I decided to enroll in her Rocky Mountain Regional Dog Trainer Academy. One of the best choices I’ve ever made! Ana gave me the tools to work with a number of dogs with a variety of challenges. I have since started my own dog training business and earned my Certified Professional Dog Trainer certification and am planning to earn more certifications. Thank you Ana for your continued support! What a wonderful journey it has been!”

More than Qualified
“Before I enrolled in the Rocky Mountain Regional Dog Trainer Academy, I was a press operator at a print shop and I’d just finished another dog-training school that left me feeling under-experienced and not prepared to call myself a dog trainer. I found Ana, and she told me about the academy. Now, I am more than qualified.”
